Roots of Terror

When they were born,
They were clean,

Raised up with the clutches of poverty, greed and cruelty,

Shadowed by arrogance and ignorance of their spiteful society,

Pushed them far beyond the boundaries of humanity,

Fell into the vicious hands of impurity,

Seeded ill-will inside, turned their blood unclean,

Slowly rubbing off their human sheen,

I perceive a poisonous vine,

Climbing on the back of their fragile spine,

All the way up overshadowing their mind,

Preaching perilous lessons against humankind,

Eroding love, compassion and zeal out of their peaceful life,

Making them march on the edges of knives,

Implanting disbelief that only guns can speak,

I perceive an army of terror rising, mindless and weak,

Waving guns before our face, marking future is bleak,

Their minds are controlled by a deceptive creed,

Fueling the steady rise of this brutal breed,

Blood for blood is all they need,

Only to the evil notes their ears always heed,

And dance upon innocent bodies they shot to bleed,

They don't care how people feel,

But they have taken the wrong path for their wounds to heal.
